A woman from Shanghai found her iPhone locked for almost 48 years after she let her young son play with it, Oriental Dailyreported.
Known only as Lu, she was shocked when the device notified she had to wait 25,114,984 minutes, about 47.8 years, before she could re-enter her password.
An Apple store said the phone would have to be reformatted and all stored data would be wiped out.
Lu was reluctant to do that as she had not backed up her phone, but also realised she had no choice.
“In 47 years, I probably can’t use my phone anymore,” she said.An Apple store employee said the problem was seen in iPhones running older operating systems.
