BELGRADE (Serbia), April 13 (SeeNews) - Serbia's state-owned company Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije has said it completed a 23.8 million euro ($29.4 million) project for the overhaul of the Topcider-Rakovica-Resnik section of the railway line linking Belgrade to Montenegro's Bar.

The works were carried out by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and were funded by the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Serbian railway infrastructure company said in a statement on Thursday.

In addition to the overhaul of the railway line, the project included the modernisation of the Resnik and Rakovica railway stations.

The Topcider-Rakovica-Resnik section is part of the railway line linking Serbia's Belgrade to Montenegro's Bar, which in turn is part of pan-European transport Corridor X, the company explained.

Russia's RZD International completed the overhaul of the Resnik-Valjevo section of the railway line on November 14. A total of $79.9 million was invested in the project.

Corridor X is projected to connect Salzburg in Austria to the Greek port of Thessaloniki, passing through Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia.
